NSCDC Commandant in Ogun, Mr Niyi Liad Ajibola

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced Niyi Liad Ajibola as the new commandant for its Ogun State Command.

Naija News reports that the development was confirmed in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Ajibola made his first appearance in the office yesterday as the new commandant, declaring that he will work with existing protocols and ensure collaboration among other security agencies and stakeholders to achieve maximum security in the state.

Addressing senior Management Staff officers, Divisional Officers and other ranks from his office, Ajibola pledged that the agency under his leadership will combat the menace of insecurity in the state.

The senior personnel appreciated the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi for giving him the opportunity to serve.

He also recognised the herculean task before him, saying the NSCDC is committed to safeguarding all critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as the protection of the lives and properties of citizens.

“Assuredly, we will do our work without compromise and prejudice,” Daily Post quoted Ajibola as saying.

He called for collaborations among security agencies and concerned persons in order to combat the menace of insecurity in the nation, stressing that intelligence is the bedrock of security.

Ajibola maintained also that the public must partner with the corps by providing credible intelligence and information that would assist the command to nip in the bud all activities of economic sabotage across the region.

Naija News understands that Ajibola took over the position from Commandant Kolawole Taiwo who has been in charge of the command for the past one year.

Meanwhile, in his remark earlier, the outgoing Commandant Taiwo appreciated the officers and men of the command for their cooperation and support over the past one year.

Taiwo appealed to the personnel to cooperate with Ajibola for the progress of the command.
