Zenith, UBA, FBN, GTB, Unity Bank, Other Bank Directors Pocket N6.96bn Sitting Allowance

Zenith Bank and Stanbic IBTC Holdings bank directors led others in recording the highest sitting allowances and compensation rewards in the year 2021.

An end-of-the-year lenders’ financial analysis revealed that Directors of 10 banks pocketed the sum of N6.96bn as sitting allowance and compensation last year.

Naija News understands that the reported figure represents an increase of 3.32 per cent from N6.74bn the directors received in 2020.

The 10 banks whose directors’ reportedly received the said funds include United Bank for Africa Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, FBN Holdings and Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc.

Others are Union Bank for Nigeria Plc, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, FCMB Group Plc, Wema Bank Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc and Unity Bank Plc.

Based on the extracts from audited financial results and accounts for the full year ended December 31, 2021, Unity Bank reported the least in the collection.
