2023: President Buhari Holds Closed-Door Meeting With APC Chieftains

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday received All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former governor of Borno State, Sen Ali Modu Sheriff And His former aides, in Daura, Kastina State.

Sheriff and his former aides paid President Buhari a Sallah homage.

The APC chieftain thereafter had a closed-door meeting with President Buhari, the details of the meeting have not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

Sheriff’s visit to President Buhari in Daurs is coming days after the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu announced the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Tinubu declared the lawmaker representing Borno Central senatorial district as APC vice-presidential candidate despite calls against the Muslim/Muslim ticket in 2023.

Some APC Governors had visited the president in Daura, Kastina State to express their support for the ticket and promise to support the party in 2023.

The Governors who visited President Buhari on Monday include, Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Abubakar Bello of Niger State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Simon Lalong of Plateau State and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.

The Governor of Kebbi State, Bagudu, while speaking after the meeting, said Tinubu-Shettima’s presidency will complement President Buhari’s achievements in the last seven years.
