Nigerians React As Funke Akindele Speaks On ‘Sacrificing’ Career For PDP

Reactions have trailed the statement made by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele during her announcement as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship candidate in the 2023 Lagos State election.

Announcing her nomination in a video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Akindele expressed concern about the plight of the less fortunate especially the youth category, which drove her strong passion to help and assist in governance.

The mother of two said she’s not unaware of the cost of the assignment on her vibrant career which will now be necessarily put on hold.

According to her, accepting the PDP deputy gubernatorial nomination is a huge personal sacrifice, stating that no sacrifice is too much for the actualisation of the urgent mission to rescue Lagosians.

Reacting on Twitter, many Nigerians mocked the actress over her emergence as the PDP Deputy governorship candidate in Lagos.

While some of her fans congratulated and applauded her for the well-articulated speech and her political career.
