Liverpool New Signing, Nunez Injured Ahead Of Manchester United Pre-Season Clash
Liverpool‘s new striker, Darwin Nunez has reportedly suffered a minor injury during pre-season training in Bangkok, Thailand.
Naija News reports that Liverpool will today play their first pre-season match against Manchester United at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand.
The English Premier League clubs are bracing up for a fresh league campaign starting on August 6, 2022.
However, ahead of today’s pre-season clash, Nunez, who recently joined Liverpool, reportedly picked up a minor foot issue during training on Monday.
The Telegraph via Manchester Evening News reported that Liverpool may have to wait a bit longer to see the Uruguay international in action.
Naija News learnt that Liverpool’s medical staff were forced to pull the 22-year-old out of further sessions after the development yesterday.
There are suggestions that he could be suffering from some painful blisters on his foot.
There was, however, a beam of hope for Nunez’s participation after the player was spotted stretching on the sidelines later with a physiotherapist.
Naija News reports that Nunez joined Liverpool this summer for a club-record fee of over £85 million after impressing with Benfica last season.
The young star scored 34 goals and registered four assists in 41 matches in all competitions for the Portuguese giants.
