Keyamo: FG Working On Practice Direction For Aircraft Dry Lease

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has advised Nigerians to vote for their favourite presidential candidate based on competence and not religion.

Naija News had reported that the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, announced former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday in Daura, Katsina State.

The decision by the ruling party to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential race has generated varied reactions, with many Nigerians slamming the APC and Tinubu.

Keyamo in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Tuesday advised the citizens to move the country towards the part of making humanity their religion.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain urged Nigerians not to allow any Pastor or Imam to deceive them into voting for anyone based on the religious colouration of the ticket.

He, however, asked Nigerians to base their decisions on the performance of Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State and not on the issue of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

He wrote: “A famous quote: ‘Are you Hindu, Muslim or Christian?’ And a young girl replied, ‘I am hungry!’ As the elites selfishly try to smuggle religion into politics, ordinary citizens just need good governance.

“We must steer the country towards the part of making HUMANITY our religion!

“No one should deceive us, as ordinary Nigerians, be it a pastor or Imam, to vote or not to vote for anyone based on the religious colouration of the ticket.

“Let the debate begin as to the PERFORMANCE of @officialABAT as Gov. of Lagos State and not the issue of same faith ticket.”
