‘I Support Muslim-Muslim Ticket’- Shehu Sani Mockingly Reacts As Tinubu Picks Running Mate

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket chosen by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that Tinubu on Sunday confirmed former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his standard running mate for the 2023 election.

The decision according to Tinubu was made after a series of consultations.

Reacting in a post via his verified Twitter page; Sani sarcastically said he is in support of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The 8th National Assembly lawmaker tweeted: “I support Muslim-Muslim Ticket; Me and Aisha Yesufu.”

Naija News understands that a socio-political activist and co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu had earlier condemned Tinubu’s choice of a single-faith presidential ticket.

Yesufu via her microblogging page a Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to fairness, equity and justice.

According to her, religion should not have been an issue in Nigeria, but events witnessed in the country in the last seven years in the country made it an issue.

Yesufu tweeted: “A Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to fairness, equity and justice. It is see finish. It is impunity of the worst kind. It is disrespectful to the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It shows they have little regard for people and think their structure is more valuable.

“Religion should never be an issue when it comes to politics but the happenings in Nigeria in the last 7 years made it an issue. The lack of equity and the brazen impunity is what made it an issue.

“Do not allow anyone to make you a second-class citizen in your country.

“If you provide competence accountability & transparency you can have all your political members from one family & nobody will care but when you cause division with incompetent & skewed appointments that favour mostly one region& one religion, then the Muslim-Muslim ticket is a no no.

“In 2014 APC toyed with Muslim-Muslim ticket. It was said then that Tinubu wanted to be Vice President. He let of of his ambition because it would not fly. The same APC has gotten into power and grown wings and horns.

“The present disastrous President in the office is a Muslim who has gathered other Muslims in a very unfair & disproportionate manner around him to lead the country into the sorry state it is in. People have been crying about this unfairness & his party presents a Muslim-Muslim ticket”, Yesufu noted.
