2023: Zulum Rejected APC Vice Presidential Slot Because Tinubu Will Lose – Reno Omokri
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has expressed his view on why the governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum rejected the vice presidential slot of the All Progressives Congress.
According to Omokri, Zulum refused to be the running mate of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the APC, because he knows he would be defeated in the 2023 race.
Omokri’s take is coming after Tinubu announced the former governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
Tinubu announced his running mate on Sunday after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Kastina State.
The political activist in a post on his Twitter account on Monday said Zulum does not want to lose his chance of being the Governor of Borno State for a ticket that he is not sure about.
Omokri added that Zulum knows that the Muslim/Muslim ticket of the ruling party is going nowhere.
The former presidential aide wrote, “Zulum did not reject Tinubu’s offer to be his VP because he wants to focus on developing Borno. He rejected it because he knows Tinubu will LOSE, and did not want to leave a sure thing (Governor) for an unsure thing (VP)! HE knows Muslim-Muslim ticket is going NOWHERE.”
