BREAKING: Buhari Meets Tinubu, Masari Behind Closed Door

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State.

Naija News understand that the meeting which is behind closed doors is being held at the private residence of President Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

The former Lagos Governor alongside Governor Masari had earlier arrived at the president’s residence a few minutes after 2pm to inform him of his chosen running mate.

Tinubu, who had arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina at 1:15pm on Sunday, was received by Masari and members of his cabinet.

The APC presidential candidate while briefing the press upon his arrival, confirmed former Governor of Borno State, Kassim Shettima as his standard running-mate.

President Buhari has been in Daura since Friday to celebrate the 2022 Eid-el Kabir festive with his extended family.

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has debunked reports that he met with a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, recently.

Naija News reports that Omokri had in a post claimed a viral message on WhatsApp purported that he met Obi and demanded $100,000 to support his presidential bid.

He had also called out the Labour Party presidential candidate, asking him to disclose where they met in London.

Reacting in a statement sent to Naija News correspondent on Sunday morning through his Media Adviser, Valentine Obienyem, Peter Obi denied making such a statement.

Obi stated that he suspects the statement to be the usual prank being played by the same people desirous of citing it as a justification for strengthening their unprovoked attack on his person.
