Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has condemned the assault on prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, also known as Odumeje during the demolition of his church building by officials of Anambra state government.

The ministry located at 88B Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha had earlier been marked for demolition in April by the Anambra government.

The church building is reportedly sitting on a huge canal and obstructing waterways, prompting the government to order its removal as an illegal building in line with Soludo’s plan to demolish over 200 buildings in Onitsha blocking the drainage linking the River Niger.

Reacting to the viral video of Odumeje being hit repeatedly by some police officers via Twitter, Reno stated that if the same treatment was carried out on the clergyman in the North, Obi Ezekwesili and others would have condemned it.

He tweeted: “If Pastor Odumeje had been brutalised in the North, Obi Ezekwesili and others, would have crawled out of their holes to condemn it. But as it happened in the South, they are silent. Just as they were silent when Harira was killed in the same Anambra. We are watching.”
