The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has assured citizens of maximum security during the 2022 Sallah holiday, Naija News reports.

This is as the security agency announced the deployment of 900 personnel to designated places across the state ahead of the 2022 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

NSCDC promised to work with other sister agencies to ensure the protection of lives and properties of citizens at Eid and Dubar grounds.

It also assured of the maximum watch over government properties and installations, markets and shopping malls, motor parks and other sensitive positions in the state.

Naija News reports that the security agency gave the assurance in a statement signed and issued to newsmen on Thursday by the command’s spokesman, CSC Adamu Shehu.

Shehu said in the statement that the deployment of the personnel followed the directives of the State Commandant, Musa Alhaji Mala (CC), who also urged officers to be civil and exhibit a high level of professionalism whilst conducting the operation.

While promising to keep to its word, the security agency admonished the general public to be law-abiding and assist in the maintenance of law and order, be vigilant and report any suspicious movement(s) to the nearest security formation for a prompt response.

Meanwhile, reports emerging hours after the daring attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre on Tuesday night confirmed that the same terrorists have reportedly identified their next target locations on Sallah day.

It was reported earlier that Kuje prison was attacked by the same terrorists who bombed the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28.

The terrorists, Naija News understands, freed their members in the prison facility during the night attack.

Sources confirmed to newsmen that the terrorists freed their high-profile members because their plan to use the abducted passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train in exchange for their members was not fruitful as the federal government was adamant about the negotiation.

The terrorists blew up sections of the prison facility using explosive devices that gave them easy access to the criminals.

A report sighted on Daily Trust on Thursday, however, narrated that the terrorists are planning to launch deadly attacks in Minna, Bida and Kainji, all in Niger State during the Sallah holiday.
