The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that it uncovered plans by cult gangs to storm the state to celebrate the “7/7 Neo Black Movement of Africa, a.k.a. Black Axe Day”.

In a statement on Wednesday, the command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the cult group is planning to invade the state despite repeated warnings to members of secret cult gangs to stay away.

He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, warned groups intending to scuttle the peace being enjoyed to shelve their plans.

According to the police spokesperson, CP Alabi has tightened security around the metropolis to forestall the breakdown of law and order.

Hundeyin said, “The command’s tactical teams, area commanders, and DPOs, in collaboration with other sister agencies, are fully prepared to clamp down heavily on organizers, leaders, and progenitors of such sinister groups which aim is to cause wanton violence in the state.

“The command is therefore using this medium to appeal to parents and guardians to warn their children/wards to steer clear of any unlawful gathering or society before, during, and after the said date. Also, hoteliers are by this release warned not to allow their facilities be used for any cult-related gathering as owners of such facilities will be liable to prosecution.”
