Mob Burns Two Men To Death In Enugu For Alegedly Raping And Killing Ten Year Old Girl

There was a commotion in the Ede-Oballa community of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State on Monday after residents nabbed two alleged ritualists.

It was gathered that the two suspects had raped a young girl and dismembered her body.

Naija News learnt that the deceased’s body was found in a nearby bush with her private parts removed.

Residents of the community are said to have expressed worry that ritualists are now around the community. A resident who reportedly .spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria, said: “Only ritualists will rape a girl to death and remove her vital organs for their evil acts”.

The residents told newsmen that the suspects were discovered and arrested by the neighbourhood watch.

He said residents, however, did not allow the operatives to transfer them to the police.

One of the neighbourhood watches who preferred to be anonymous said a mob rushed to their office and overpowered them and took the duo away and lynched them.

President-General and Councillor representing the community, Messrs Val Omeje and Hyginus Ogbu confirmed the incident

They also confirmed that the suspects hailed from the community.

The state police command is yet to make an official comment on the development. Though the Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe had told Daily Post that he’ll provide an update on the matter.
