NNPP Speaks On Kwankwaso Being An Ethnic Bigot

The Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Sunday surprised many Nigerians ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News reports that the former Governor of Kano State and ex-Minister of Defence wore a suit to a political programme on Channels Television, tagged Sunday Politics.

The former Kano governor is known for always wearing a traditional white flowing wide-sleeved robe known as “boubou” or “agbada” with a red and white stripe cap.

The white flowing wide-sleeved robe and the red and white stripe cap are known as the dressing signature of the Kwankwasiya movement in Kano state.

Kwankwaso during the interview on Sunday was also seen not wearing a cap which is unusual for the former Kano Senator and leader of the Kwankwasiya movement.

Speaking on the programme, Kwankwaso said the people of the North would vote for him and his party, NNPP in the 2023 presidential election.

The former Kano lawmaker added that the northern voters have made up their minds on what to do with their votes.

He said: “The northerner voters have made up their minds on what to do; certainly NNPP, nobody can change it.

Unfortunately, there are many issues in the South East, and a northern voter is the worst-hit in this issue of maladministration in this country,” he asserted. “But even under that circumstance, a northern voter also believes that he is better with one united Nigeria.

“Therefore, most of the things that are happening in the South, especially in the South East; people are not comfortable with that and as long as you have somebody from there in any party, it will be very difficult for the northern voters to vote, and that’s the situation now.”
