It's Left For Tinubu To Allow Him - Shehu Sani Identifies Politician Trying To Cause Crisis In Nigeria

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has backed the decision of the Zamfara State Government to approve the death penalty for all bandits, kidnappers, and informants in the state.

Recall that the Zamfara government had said that bandits, their informants and kidnappers caught in the state will be sentenced to death.

Abdullahi Shinkafi, Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs to Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, made this known during an interview on Tuesday.

He disclosed that the State Assembly on Monday passed into law a bill which approves the death penalty for all bandits, kidnappers, informants and other banditry-related issues.

Shinkafi added that the governor signed the bill into law on Tuesday at the Governor’s Office in Gusau, the state capital.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter page on Wednesday, Sani said the death sentence for bandits and their informants is a necessity compelled by the situation Zamfara found itself.

He stressed that the North West state has become a breeding ground and safe haven for terrorists, adding that the state is worse than Borno state.

He wrote: “Zamfara’s death sentence for terrorists, Bandits and their informants is a necessity compelled by the situation the state found itself. Zamfara has become a breeding ground and safe haven for terrorists. Zamfara is today worse than Borno State.
