Former lawmaker of the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the decision of the 9th senate on Wednesday to send a delegation to London over a case of alleged organ harvest against Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

Naija News reports that Ekweremadu and his wife were apprehended and charged to court last week in the United Kingdom over the alleged offence.

In response to the senator’s ordeal, the upper chamber of the national assembly after a series of deliberation today, set up a committee that will visit the embattled senator and see more to the alleged offence.

The Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan after the meeting today, commended defence lawyers to Ekweremadu and his wife, who he said were working hard to get them out of detention.

Reacting, Senator Sani via his Twitter handle, commended the Red chamber for their response to Ekweremadu’s issue, saying they were in the right direction.

The former lawmaker, however, challenged the lawmakers to extend the same gesture to Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

He tweeted: “Ekweremadu deserves all the necessary consular support he needs. The response of the NASS is in the right direction. But same should be extended to Sunday Igboho.”
