"I Will Say Things More Than This" - Fayose Threatens PDP

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has urged former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose to calm down over his position and insistence on a 2023 southern presidency.

Sani was part of the many people that reacted after Fayose took to his Twitter account on Wednesday to imply he may not back the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar who is the 2023 candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because 2023 should be the turn of the south.

Naija News reports both Fayose and Atiku belong to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, Fayose in his submission on Wednesday said the PDP should have followed the zoning principle and chosen its candidate from the south.

He insisted that for equity, justice and fairness to prevail, it must be a southern presidency in 2023 or nothing.

“The PDP Constitution provides for a rotational Presidency. Section 3(c) provides that the Party shall pursue its aims & objectives by “adhering to the policy of the rotation & zoning of Party & Public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness.

“The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING,” Fayose wrote.

Following the outburst, Sani told him to exercise patience, adding that the delegates do not read the constitution the former Ekiti State Governor is quoting.

According to Sani, “Calm down Big Bro; Delegates no de read constitution, na mint dem de read.”
