South East Won’t Vote For APC, PDP In 2023 – Igbo Elders

The Igbo Elders Consultative Forum has stated that the South East will not vote for both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.

In a statement on Friday signed by former Anambra Governor Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the forum said the South East will punish the two major political parties for their refusal to zone the presidency to the region.

The elders added that the Igbos will reject both the APC and the PDP completely in the 2023 election for jettisoning the quest for a South East presidency.

Speaking further the elders slammed Igbo delegates who betrayed the quest for the South-East presidency in the recently-conducted presidential primaries of the APC and the PDP.

The forum described the Igbo politicians as saboteurs to the region’s quest to produce Nigeria’s next leader in 2023. The Igbo elders accused the Southeast delegates of selling out their brothers and voting for aspirants of other regions because of money and selfish interest.

PDP Speaks On Substituting Okowa As Atiku’s Running Mate

The Peoples Democratic Party on Friday ruled out the move to change the name of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as the vice-presidential candidate of the party.

Osun 2022: PDP Reports APC National Chairman, Adamu To President Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu of attempting to rig the 2022 Osun governorship election.

The Osun PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle made the allegation in a statement on Friday in which he called the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to the matter.

He said the statements credited to Senator Adamu while inaugurating the APC campaign committee for the election show the party’s National Chairman does not want the will of the people to prevail.

Naija News recalls Adamu submitted that the ruling party cannot afford to lose the July 16 Osun governorship election.

He stated that the ruling party must do everything within the law to ensure that its governorship candidate emerges victorious, adding that his tolerance level for failure is zero.

Adamu said this on Thursday, in Abuja during the inauguration of the 86-member campaign council for the Osun election.

He said that the party is certain of victory in the Osun election even though it may be a little more difficult than the Ekiti governorship poll.

Reacting to the position, the PDP state chairman called on President Buhari not to allow Senator Adamu set Osun State on fire.

He argued that a free and fair election where the will of the people will prevail must be made possible.

Adekunle stated further that the words of the APC National Chairman are akin to giving a marching order for the election to be rigged in favour of the ruling party.
