The Olowo of Owo kingdom, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, has said he is not aware of the arrest of some suspects in the terrorist attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo.

Naija News reports that the Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, had claimed that some suspects connected to the church attack have been apprehended.

He made this known on Thursday during a parade of 71 criminals arrested across the state at the corps’ headquarters in Akure, the state capital.

Adeleye also disclosed that the command recovered some weapons and vehicles used to perpetrate the terror attack on the church on June 5.

He, however, did not give the actual figure of the suspected terrorists arrested but expressed assurance that all the attackers of the church would be apprehended.

Recall that gunmen stormed the Catholic church located on Owa-Iuwa Street, killing over 20 persons and injuring 70 others during a Sunday mass.

Reacting to the development, the Olowo of Owo said he cannot confirm the arrest of the suspects connected to the Owo massacre because he had not been briefed on the matter.

In an interview with The Punch, the monarch stated that he would wait for the briefing from the security agency before he can issue a statement on the arrest.

He said: “I can’t confirm it (the arrest) because I have not been informed by the security people. I just read it on social media but we will be patient for the security agency on it.
