Reactions As Buhari Nominates Seven New Ministers To Replace Amaechi, others

Reactions have trailed the nomination of seven persons for screening and confirmation by the Senate for appointment as ministers.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari prior to the All Primary Congress (APC) primary election issued a directive to all appointees contesting the Presidential election to resign.

While some ministers withdrew from the presidential race while others like Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio, Ogbonnaya Onu, Tayo Alasoadura and others resigned from their positions.

In the letter sent to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday, Buhari said the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.

The nominees include Umana Okon Umana (Akwa Ibom), Henry Ikechukwu Iko (Abia), Egwumakama Joseph Nkama (Ebonyi), Odum Odih (Rivers), Ademola Adegoroye (Ondo), Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub (Kano State) and Goodluck Nnana Opiah (Imo).
