Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have confirmed the abduction of a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Planning, Engr. Babangida.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed Babangida’s residence in the Bajabire community of Girei Local Government Area on Tuesday and forced their way into his compound.

Naija News learnt that his abductors having gained entrance into the compound shot the former commissioner in the foot and whisked him away to an unknown location.

Two people were reportedly killed while several others were injured before the assailants abducted the former commissioner.

A family member who confided in Daily Trust said the terrorist group have demanded a sum of N30 million as ransom.

What is worrisome is that during the last APC primaries, he escaped an attack by some persons who ended up smashing the windscreen of his car,” said the family member.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said they have got the report.

The personnel assured that measures were being taken to rescue the victim.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user identified as Ameerah Sufyan with the username, @Ameerah_sufyan has raised an alarm on Twitter about the kidnap of herself and sixteen others by unknown gunmen.

According to her in a post on Tuesday afternoon, the gunmen dressed in Police uniforms picked her and some others including three pregnant women and two children from their houses in Abuja.

She stated that they didn’t see her phone which enabled her to be able to send out the message seeking intervention and rescue from their abductors.
