Army Rescue Abducted Chibok School Girl In Borno

The Nigerian Army has announced the rescue of a lady suspected to be one of the young girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists at the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, Naija News reports.

The Army Headquarters announced through its official Twitter page on Wednesday morning that a lady identified simply as Mary Ngoshe was rescued with a baby by the troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade.

The troops according to the report were carrying out a patrol around Ngoshe in Borno when they intercepted the lady and her son.

The terse statement on the army social media handle reads: “Troops of 26 Task Force Brigade on patrol around Ngoshe in Borno State on 14 June 2022 intercepted one Mrs Mary Ngoshe and her son. She is believed to be one of the abducted girls from GGSS Chibok in 2014. Further exploitation ongoing.”

Naija News recall that Boko Haram terrorists had carried out an attack in Chibok town of Borno in 2014.

The terrorists exactly on the night of April 14, 2014, stormed Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok and abducted 276 students mostly Christian female students who were between the age of 16 and 18.

Eight years have passed and some of the girls have not regained their freedom.
