The Anglican Communion Bishop of Jebba Diocese, Rt Rev Oluwaseun Aderogba and his wife have regained their freedom from terrorists, two days after their abduction.

Naija News had reported earlier that the cleric and his wife were abducted along Ogbomoso-Oyo Road.

The Bishop’s Chaplain who was with the victims told reporters earlier that they were travelling from Jebba to Oyo when their vehicle developed a fault a few kilometres away from the ancient city.

He explained that while they were waiting for their vehicle to be fixed, some armed men surrounded and ordered them into the bush.

The chaplain, however, managed to escape the attack and immediately informed the church of the incident.

Reports emerging at the moment confirmed that the couple has been freed by the suspected terrorists.

The Diocese of Osun Anglican Communion -@anglicanosun- confirmed this on its Twitter handle, stating that the victims were being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The tweet reads: “Praise be to God. Bishop Adeyinka Aderogba, his wife and driver were released from the den of kidnappers after 48 hours.

“They are being taken to the hospital for medical attention.”

It was, however, unclear if any ransom was paid to secure the release of the bishop, his wife and their driver.
