JUST IN: ASUU Rejects Crowdfunding To End Lingering Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has declined an offer by Human Rights Activist and Radio Broadcaster, Ahmed Isah, in an attempt to end the union’s lingering strike.

Naija News understands that Isah who is popularly called Ordinary President had announced last Thursday that he wants to be a mediator between the federal government and the striking lecturers.

He promised to help the government raise the sum of N18 billion to settle ASUU within two weeks from his announcement day. Isah was said to have immediately kicked off the fundraising campaign on Berekete Family, a popular radio show he spearhead.

Speaking on the radio show on Thursday, Isah said the campaign was not to put down the government but to support its efforts in resolving the issue.

However, ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, who was at the Berekete radio studio this morning, announced that the union would distance itself from the campaign and that its name should be removed.
