2023: Buhari’s Ex-Aide, Bashir Ahmad Reveals Position On Muslim-Muslim Ticket

The former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad has revealed his position on the controversial issue of a same-religion ticket for the 2023 presidential election.

Taking to his Twitter account on Saturday afternoon, Ahmad stated that a Muslim-Muslim ticket or Christian-Christian ticket may help in reducing or totally eliminating politics based on religious prejudice in Nigeria.

The former presidential media aide while stating that he is not blindly supporting a same-religion ticket, however, claimed that such has helped Kaduna State.

He wrote: “I am not blindly supporting or pushing for a Muslim/Muslim or Christian/Christian tickets, but consciously know that either of the two will definitely help us to reduce or even get rid of the politics that is solely based on religious prejudice in this country. It helped Kaduna.”

Naija News earlier reported that Ahmad had told the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to choose only a deputy that will help him achieve his great plans for the country, noting that it will not matter to the majority of Nigerians which religion or tribe the running is from.

He urged him to consider competence over religion.

He tweeted: “Dear Asiwaju, what matters the most is the competency of the person you are going to choose as your deputy, if he/she is a Nigerian with the capacity to help you achieve your great plans for this country, I am sure majority won’t bother whether he/she is a Christian or Muslim.”
