More Troubles For Peter Obi, Labour Party As Allies Reject Presidential Campaign List, Threaten To Dump Party

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Thursday stated that the Labour Party faction of a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, is the only recognised faction.

This is coming after a faction of the party declared a former chairman of the party in Anambra State, Jude Ezenwafor as the winner of the presidential primary it organised on Wednesday.

Ezenwafor, however, on Thursday announced his withdrawal from the 2023 presidential race.

According to Ezenwafor, his decision to withdraw from the race is based on personal reasons.

The National President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba while reacting to the emergence of Ezenwafor as a factional presidential candidate said his faction is not recognised.

Wabba further stated that the NLC and TUC recognize the leadership of the Labour Party led by Barr. Julius Abure

The statement released by the NLC Chairman reads, “The leadership of the NLC and TUC recognize the leadership of the Labour Party led by Barr. Julius Abure, a former trade union leader and workers are part of the leadership.
