Tinubu Reacts To Ondo Catholic Church Attack, Says Massacre Reprehensible

There was mild drama on the microblogging platform, Twitter on Wednesday as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) posted a message on the proposed running mate of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the former Governor of Lagos State gathered 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rival, former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who polled 316 votes, while the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo gathered 235 votes.

There had been speculations that Tinubu would pick a Muslim as his running mate in 2023, a rumour which he had debunked claiming to be a handy work of his enemies.

However, on Wednesday a Twitter user identified as Ssaasquatch had posted on his space how Tinubu may find it difficult to select a running mate for the 2023 race.

The NNPC official handle in its response to the post wrote, “He will run with a Muslim VP.”

NNPC moments later, however, deleted the post and shared a disclaimer.

The declaimer reads, “The general public is hereby informed that #NNPCLimited‘s Twitter handle (@NNPCgroup) was compromised and used to send an inappropriate message on 8th June 2022 at 6:35 pm. The breach has been addressed, and the Twitter handle successfully recovered.

“#NNPCLimited wishes to reassure the general public that it remains committed to doing business most ethically at all times.”
