2023: Tinubu Reveals Buhari's Response About His Running Mate That Led To The Emergence Of Shettima

Reactions ha trailed the acceptance speech of the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following his emergence as the APC presidential candidate.

Naija News earlier reported that Tinubu on Wednesday won APC’s presidential ticket, defeating former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in a landslide.

In his acceptance speech shortly after the announcement of his victory, Tinubu thank God for the success of the exercise and his victory at the poll.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his contribution to the smooth running and conduction of the presidential primaries. Tinubu described the incumbent leader as a humble and gracious man.

According to Tinubu, he never expected that he would win the primary election but that it happened.

Tinubu while commenting on Osinbajo, who was one of his top contenders for the presidential ticket, described the nation’s number two citizen as a good supportive pillar to President Buhari.

The former Lagos State governor, however, noted in his speech that he wasn’t happy about Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s participation in the race.

Tinubu revealed that he holds no grudge against those who refused to step down for him. He also appreciated the aspirants who stepped down and backed his presidential ambition.
