Politicians Must Imbibe MKO Abiola’s Leadership Qualities - Kalu

The chief whip of the 9th Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday evening vowed to enter the presidential race if the All Progressives Congress decides to zone the party’s ticket to the South-East.

The former Governor of Abia State noted he would enter the race if the decision is taken on Tuesday morning, adding that he bought the presidential form of the party.

Kalu said in all justice the power should go to the South-East or North-East which has never produced a president in Nigeria.

He further stated that the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan is the only presidential candidate from the North-East, others from South-South, South-West in all fairness should step down.

Kalu while speaking during an interview on Channels TV said, “There are two zones that have not produced a President and the South East is not going to support anybody from the South-South or South West.

“The only justice going South is South East and that could be fairness. That is if you want to talk about justice, equity or one Nigeria.

“Why didn’t they zone it to the South East? South-South is written off, South West is written off, and the only zone left is South East.

“Give it to South East and I’ll dust my form tomorrow morning. It’s not over yet. I bought a form. And I’ll be the candidate tomorrow morning.

“So, the only thing to do now is that Ahmed Lawan is the only person on the table. He is from the North East and they’ve never been President.”
