The rulingAll Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced activities to elect its flagbearer for the 2023 presidential election.

The primary election is scheduled to take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja from Tuesday to Wednesday, June 7-8.

President Buhari has handed the APC flag to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu signalling his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate.

23:57: only female APC aspirant Uju Ken-Ohanenye has stepped down for former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu.

23:30: Pastor Nicholas Felix has announced he his stepping down for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

23: 00: Rotimi Amaechi and Rochas Okorocha refuse to step down for any aspirant.

22:48: Dimeji Bankole, Senator Ajayi Borroffice and Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State all step down for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has also stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

19:55: Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo and President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived the Eagle Square signalling the start of the APC presidential primary.

19:12: APC presidential aspirants, Rotimi Amaechi, arrives convention venue.

18: 15: Governor of Kogi State and presidential aspirant under the APC, Yahaya Bello, has arrived at the venue of the ongoing special convention.

17: 55: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday stormed the venue of the All Progressives Congress Special Convention, Eagle Square, Abuja.

16: 23: A delegate of the All Progressives Congress from Jigawa State, Alh. Isa Baba Buji, has died in Abuja.

12: 45: Delegates and some ad hoc officials of the All Progressives Congress clashed at the venue of the party’s national convention on Tuesday. However, accreditation has begun after the resolution of the misunderstanding.

10:30: APC begins accreditation of delegates at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Delegates were driven into the accreditation centre in designated buses.

07:00: APC governors, NWC submit five-man list to Buhari, ask president to pick either Bola Tinubu, David Umahi, Rotimi Amaechi, Kayode Fayemi or Yemi Osinbajo as party consensus candidate.
