Controversy seems to be brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as there was an alleged attempt to temper with the delegates’ list for the presidential primary election.
It was gathered that the alteration of the delegates was done to favour Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
“The secretary of the accreditation committee, Senator Gumel, a personal assistant to Lawan. Orji Kalu, senate whip, and Hope Uzodimma, are also working to ensure that only delegates that will vote Lawan will get into Eagle Square,” a source told TheCable.
Lawan who is one of the contenders for the ruling party’s ticket has refused to step down despite northern APC governors insisting the ticket should be zoned to the South.
Recall that the APC national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu had on Monday announced Lawan as the consensus candidate of the party, which was latet rejected by President Muhammadu Buhari, APC governors and some members of the National Working Committee of the party.
