Reactions As Presidency Replies Tinubu Over Comment On Buhari

Reactions have trailed the Presidency’s reply to the claim by Bola Tinubu that he was responsible for the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as President of Nigeria in 2015.

Recall that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had claimed that he is responsible for the emergence of Buhari as president in the 2015 general elections.

Tinubu stated this last week in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital while addressing the APC delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primary election.

The statement was, however, retracted by the presidential aspirant, claiming that the statement was wrongly interpreted.

The presidency in a statement released through the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the emergence of Buhari as President was decided by millions of Nigerians.

Following the Presidency’s reply, some Nigerians who are opposed to Tinubu’s presidential ambition have taken to social media to mock the former Lagos Governor.

While some of Tinubu’s fans and supporters defended his statement and asked the Presidency to be sincere in its statement.
