Man Narrates How Gunmen Killed His Brother, Three-Year-Old Son In Attacked Owo Catholic Church

A man identified as Oga Cletus has disclosed how gunmen who carried out the deadly attack on worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State killed his brother and nephew.

Naija News reports that unknown gunmen had invaded the catholic church, throwing explosives and shooting many worshippers died on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

In the video shared on social media, it was learned that no fewer than 50 worshippers were either shot dead or murdered by the explosives.

Speaking about his brother’s death, Cletus disclosed to the BBC pidgin that he ran to the church, only to find his 40-year-old brother Omuna and his three year old son, Chisom dead bodies.

“After I closed from church on Sunday, I put on my phone, and the first message I got is that they had killed my brother at St. Francis Owaluwa, so I quickly went there and saw their dead bodies in a pool of blood. I had to arrange motor to carry them both to the mortuary.”

He noted that they shot his brother in his chest and his son in the head and leg.
