2023: Kwankwaso’s NNPP Is No Match For APC In Kano – Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has said the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is no match for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections in the state.

The governor mocked his predecessor and former principal, Rabiu Kwankwaso over the formation of the new party and his chances of winning any election in the state.

Ganduje boasted that Kwankwaso and the NNPP do not pose any threat to the chances of the ruling party both at the federal and state level in the 2023 elections.

Governor Ganduje made these known in an interview on a political programme on Television Continental (TVC) on Sunday.

According to the governor, the constant movement of Kwankwaso between political parties has seen him lose a lot of his supporters and followers.

Ganduje claimed that he is not worried about the poaching of some political heavyweights from the APC into the NNPP.

He said: “He was in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I was with him, and we moved to the APC. By so doing, we lost some followers in the process. Then he moved back to the PDP, and he lost more followers. And now he has moved to a new party, he has also lost some followers.

“So you see that when people are on nomadism in terms of politicking, they will tend to lose some followers along the line. So we have a formidable chance of winning the election in Kano.”

Naija News reports that Kwankwaso, who was elected twice as governor of Kano on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had defected to the APC in 2013.

He, however, returned to PDP in 2018 and, in March 2022, he left the party again for the newly formed NNPP, where he is set to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate.
