2023: Tinubu And I Will Replicate What We Did In Lagos, Borno For Nigeria - Shettima

Former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima on Friday warned that there might be catastrophy if Bola Tinubu fails to emerge as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Shettima stated this on Friday during an interview on TVC.

Tinubu would be hoping to win the presidential ticket of the ruling party in its presidential primary scheduled for June 6th and 7th.

Shettima further stated that Tinubu has paid the price for the ruling party, adding that the former governor made statements that were quoted out of context.

The former governor added that Tinubu played a key role in the 2015 election.

Shettima said, “We are in a democratic situation but I’m afraid it might be catastrophic for the party. I’m not a prophet of doom; I’m an internal optimist. We have done our bidding and by God’s grace, our candidate will emerge as the presidential flagbearer of the APC in the next 72 hours.

“It is not a subject of dispute but a question of time. He has paid the price, and yesterday in Abeokuta, he made some remarks that were deliberately distorted and quoted out of context.

“Whether they are willing to admit it or not, he played a pivotal role not only in the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as the candidate of the APC but in the ultimate election in 2015.”
