2023: Buhari May Give Tinubu The Ambode Treatment – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri on Wednesday spoke on the presidential ambition of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Omokri in a post on his Twitter account recalled how the former governor of Lagos State allegedly hindered the second term ambition of a former governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode.

There were claims that Tinubu presented the current Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the next governor of the state due to his rift with Ambode.

Ambode was defeated in the primary of the APC by Sanwo-Olu despite plea for him to return as the Governor of Lagos State.

Reno in his reaction wondered why Tinubu hindered Ambode’s ambition despite other governors of the APC begging the presidential aspirant on behalf of Ambode.

The human rights activist further stated that the Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu prostrated to plead with Tinubu, but he rejected Ambode.

According to Reno, he would not be surprised if President Muhammadu Buhari serves Tinubu the same measure of his action against Ambode in 2019.

Reno in the post wrote, “Did Ambode not buy a form? APC collected his money. Yet Tinubu rejected him. Did he not gather his brother Governors to beg Tinubu on his behalf? Did Governor Bagudu of Kebbi not prostrate to Tinubu? So, heaven won’t fall if Buhari gives Tinubu the Ambode treatment!”
