Bakare Reacts To Atiku's Emergence As PDP Presidential Candidate

Presidential aspirant and popular cleric, Tunde Bakare has reacted to the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News reports Atiku defeated all other aspirants with a wide margin to emerge the winner of Saturday’s primary election held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Atiku who polled a total of 371 votes ahead of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, will now be the official candidate of the PDP for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

Speaking with reporters after undergoing a Presidential screening on Monday, Bakare said he has the political strength to defeat Atiku in the 2023 presidential election if elected as the APC flagbearer.

The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church described Atiku as a worthy candidate to face in the upcoming presidential poll.

Bakare, however, expressed confidence in winning the APC Presidential primary and the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking further, the presidential aspirant said he was satisfied with the screening process and the questions asked by the John Oyegun-led committee.

He said, “The screening exercise went very well. Appropriate questions were asked about how we are going to fix the challenges facing our nation and appropriate answers were given to them.

“By God’s grace, we are pleased that we had something to offer this nation. In this critical moment in our history, nobody can say I have all the solutions. But we did say to them that we will assemble the best, brightest and fittest from within the country, north and south, and from outside of the country, those in the diaspora.

“The time has come for us to raise the foundation of many generations, to restore our path and ensure that our nation becomes great again.”

Naija News reports that Bakare and other aspirants cleared by the committee will have to slug it out at the party’s presidential primary election for the chance to emerge the APC candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
