Atiku: Doyin Okupe Reveals How North Ganged Up Against Wike 24 Hours Before PDP Convention

A former PDP chieftain and Peter Obi’s Campaign Director, Doyin Okupe has revealed how former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other northern elites outsmarted Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Reacting in a post on Twitter to Atiku’s victory in the PDP presidential primary, Okupe, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, claimed that the winner of the main opposition party’s primary was concluded 24 hours before the convention.

He said the North had to come up with a strategy to defeat Nyesom Wike because he had gain ground across the country over other aspirants.

Shina Peller Loses APC Senatorial Ticket

Senator Fatai Buhari has defeated House member Shina Peller to clinch the senatorial ticket for Oyo North.

Mr Buhari scored 570 votes against Mr Peller’s five votes, ending the lawmaker’s four-year stint in the parliament.

Mr Peller was elected to the House in 2019 and declined to seek a second term in order to stay true to an agreement to rotate the seat in his constituency.

His supporters said he would have easily clinched the ticket to return to the House, but the politician argued that he couldn’t afford to go back on his words.

Benue APC Guber Primary: Gemade Kicks, Accuses Election Committee Of Producing Fake Result

The immediate past Senator representing Benue northeast senatrial district and a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Barnabas Gemade has accused the APC governorship primary election committee headed by Dr. Peter Ojie of faking the result earlier announced on Saturday.

In a press statement issued to journalists in Makurdi on Sunday, Sen. Gemade alleged that the electoral officers purportedly sat at the party secretariat and never moved to any of the venues throughout the state, adding that party members who gathered there, gathered in vain.

According to the statement, the results were simply fabricated, and allocated to aspirants by some election panel members and state executive committee members.

Oyo 2023: Adelabu Officially Dumps APC, Reveals Next Line Of Action

The current political swing in Oyo State has seen 2023 gubernatorial aspirant, Adebayo Adelabu, renounce his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adelabu ended speculations on Sunday after he officially announced that he has yielded to calls from his supporters to dump APC.

The former Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said the broom party has been polluted and hijacked by some persons in the state.

Adelabu who was the gubernatorial candidate of APC in 2019 had participated in the party’s gubernatorial primary election on Friday but lost, Naija News understands.

He, however, refused to reveal his next political movement but promised to announce his decision in the next 48hours.

2023: Reno Omokri Apologizes To Peter Obi Over Comments

Former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri has apologized to presidential aspirant, Peter Obi for his comments on a television program.

Reno’s apology is coming after Peter Obi cautioned his supporters to refrain from attacking the personality of other aspirants and candidates under the guise of support his presidential bid.

During his interview on Arise TV, Omokri had described Obi as opportunistic for dumping PDP for Labour Party, adding that LP conflicts his (Obi’s) ideology.

Taking to his Twitter account, Omokri apologized for the statement.

2023: Peter Obi Reacts As Atiku Emerges PDP Presidential Candidate

Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for emerging victorious at the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News had earlier reported that Atiku defeated all other aspirants with a wide margin to emerge the winner of Saturday’s primary election held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Atiku will now be the official candidate of the PDP for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

The Chairman of the PDP electoral committee for the primaries, David Mark, announced Atiku as the winner of the primary election.

Reacting to the development, Peter Obi via his verified Twitter page on Sunday congratulated the former Vice President on his emergence as the PDP presidential flagbearer in 2023.

Ita Enang, Other Aggrieved APC Governorship Aspirants Storm Appeal Panel

Immediate past Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, and scores of aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) power seekers on Saturday stormed the party’s Appeal Committee to lodge complaints arising from Akwa Ibom State governorship/House of Assembly primaries.
The Chairman of the committee was Dr. Ochim Julius Okputu, from Cross River State.

Gubernatorial aspirants in the state, including the former National Caretaker Secretary, John Akpan-Udoedehe, have disassociated themselves from the purported primaries that resulted in the emergence of Akan Udofia as APC flag bearer in the early hours of Friday morning.

Ita Enang and Augustine Utuk had earlier in a joint statement said they were displeased because of the flagrant irregularities and disregard for security advice by the DSS director in the state, Mohammed Kaumi.

Fani-Kayode Reacts To Atiku’s PDP Ticket Victory, Tells APC What To Do

Nigerian lawyer and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the victory of Atiku Abubakar at the just concluded presidential primary elections of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Naija News reports that PDP held its national convention in Abuja on Saturday where the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2023 general election emerged.

Former Vice President, Atiku won massively with a total vote of 371 to defeat his closest rival, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike who garnered 237 votes.

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki came third in the party’s primary with a total of 70 votes. Meanwhile, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal had stepped down for Atiku before voting commenced yesterday.

Joining the host of others to congratulate the Adamawa State-born politician, Fani-Kayode advised the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to field a northerner to defeat Atiku.
