Nigerians have slammed Media personality, Sarki who criticized delegates in Adamawa after Senator Aishatu Binani emerged  winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary.

Naija News reports that the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gambo Lawan, on Friday announced the result, revealing Binani scored 430 votes to defeat her closest contestant, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, who got 288 votes.

Binani’s feat makes her only the second female flag bearer of a major political party in Nigeria.

Reacting to the development, a popular Hausa influencer via the microblogging platform, Twitter expressed disappointment towards the delegates of Adamawa for allowing a woman emerge as their flagbearer.

He wrote; ”How can you allow a woman to win election? Worrying Times for the people of Adamawa.”

However, displeased Nigerians on social media have called out Sarki over his comment on the female lawmaker, demanding he apologizes for making such statement.

One bladesandtriggersng took to Instagram saying; “There are really people like this??? I swear to God i thought it was just exaggeration ooo!!! Christ!!!! He is such a dunce to make such statement”

One vicky9jatv wrote; “This must be a foolish activist. congrats joor 👏🙌 I pray she wins the secondary election, this is the kind of change we want now, not the same old men rulling us for decades yet nothing to show for.”
