APC's Binani Reacts As INEC Delcares Adamawa Guber Poll Inconclusive

Delegates were in favour of Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani at the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State yesterday.

Binani won the party’s gubernatorial ticket after pulling the highest number of votes in the election contested by some political big wigs in the state, Naija News reports.

Announcing the results in Yola, the state capital, the election committee chairman, Malam Gambo said Binani pulled a total of 430 votes while Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), came second with 288 votes.

The immediate past governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow, came third with 103 votes, Abdurrazaq Namda polled 94 votes while Wafari Theman got 39 votes.


Other aspirants, Umar Mustapha Madawaki and Wafarniyi Theman respectively clinched fifth and sixth positions in the contest.

Reports, however, claimed that Binani’s agents were caught inducing delegates during the election.

Naija News understands that Binani, the senator representing the Adamawa Central zone had previously served as a member of the House of Representatives for Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency.


Meanwhile, former Executive Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency SMEDAN, Dikko Radda, has been confirmed as the All Progressives Congress, APC flag-bearer for Katsina State 2023 governorship election.

His confirmation comes after polling the highest votes at the party’s primaries held on Thursday, May 27, 2022, Naija News reports.

Radda had won the APC ticket with just a little margin from Mustapha Inuwa, the former Secretary to the State Government and Abbas Umar Masanawa, the immediate past CEO of Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc, Naija News reports.


Radda polled 506 votes in the tight contest. Dr Inuwa had come second with a total of 442 votes while Masanawa secured 436 votes to occupy the third position.

Surprisingly too, the former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Ahmed Dangiwa, who was also touted as one of the major contenders in the race, came a distant 4th with 220 votes.
