Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to seek a second term in office.

The Governor who ran unopposed clinched the APC ticket at the primary election held on Thursday.

Naija News reports 890 delegates were accredited for the primary election, 825 votes were cast, and 805 votes were valid while 20 votes were invalid according to the election’s Returning Officer, Umar Kareto.

Buni was declared the winner and returned elected by the Returning Officer after the electoral process was completed.

Speaking after his declaration as the winner, Buni, a former national caretaker chairman of the APC thanked the delegates and his party for believing in him.

He promised not to let them down if re-elected as governor.

In a related development, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has secured the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to seek a second term in office during the 2023 polls.

This is as the Governor on Thursday recorded a massive victory at the APC governorship primary election held at the City Hall in Lafia, the state capital.

Gov. Sule polled a total of 698 votes while his only challenger, 43-year-old female aspirant, Fatimah Abdullahi got three votes.

The result of the election was announced by the Returning Officer of the APC primary election, Isa Ibeto.
