Ahmed Jubril, husband of the pregnant woman who was killed by unknown gunmen alongside her four children in Anambra, has accused the government of neglect.

Harira Jubril and her four children were killed by some unknown gunmen at Isulo, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.

The slain pregnant lady and her children identified as Fatima, Khadijah, Hadiza and Zaituna were buried on Wednesday in Awka.

Many had accused the militant wing of IPOB, Eastern Security Network (ESN) of carrying out the killings but the pro-Biafra group has constantly denied being behind such devilish acts.

Speaking with BBC News Pidgin on Wednesday, Jubril said no federal or state government official has visited him since the killing of his family.

The devasted husband and father said he had planned to move the remains of his family to Adamawa state as he did not want to bury them in Anambra.

Jubril said the plan to take the corpses to their hometown was however cancelled because the corpses were not taken care of in the mortuary.

He said: “Nobody has come to meet me, nothing like the government or police. It is only my work that is helping me at the moment.

“I have lost everything in this world, my wife and four children, all gone just like that. This is the worst thing any person would experience in life.

“Fatima, who was the eldest, was 9 years old followed by her sister Aisha, who was 7; then Hadiza, 5 years and Zaituna, 2 years old.

“She (my wife) visited my sister who was staying in another part of Anambra, and that was something she always did every week before she was killed. I was at work that day and it was when I was returning that my brother who already knew told me what happened. It was at the hospital I saw them.”
