EFCC Reveals Why It Invaded Abuja Residence Of Rochas Okorocha

Security operatives on Tuesday fired gunshots and teargas to disperse supporters of the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha who had stormed his residence to protest against the invasion of operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Naija News had earlier reported that operatives of the anti-graft agency laid siege at the residence of the lawmaker representing Imo West Senatorial District.

Operatives of the commission had accused Okorocha of jumping bail to evade corruption charges filed against him.

The protesters, mainly women, arrived at the Abuja residence of the presidential aspirant at about 5:20 p.m. to protest the siege on the house by security operatives

The protesters chanted, “We no go gree. Rochas is a father of the fatherless. He has built schools in Jos and across the nation. He is our incoming president.”

The protesters were, however, dispersed with shots at the scene of the incident as they scramble for safety following the shots.

EFCC officials are insisting on not leaving the premises unless the presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress is arrested.
