Just In: Former Police PRO, AIG Donald Awunah Is Dead

A former spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Assistant Inspector-General (AIG), Donald N. Awunah has been reported dead.

Naija News reports that the former PRO died in the wee hours of Monday after a brief illness at a private medical facility in Abuja.

Sources at the Police Headquarters had confirmed his demise, but did not disclose the cause of his death.

When asked if the Benue-born cop’s death was caused by an ailment, the source responded by saying, “apparently”.

Until his death, the late Don Awunah was an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police with the Nigerian Police Force.

He was also in charge of ZONE 16, Yenogoa, Bayelsa State where he assumed duty on October 11, 2021.

On June 27, 2016, the late Awunah emerged as a spokesperson for the police and was described by the Force as a lover of sports who loves reading, news hunting and Man’O’ War Activities.
