Shehu Sani Reacts To Beheading Of Anambra Lawmaker

The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has condemned the killing and beheading of Anambra lawmaker, Okechukwu Okoye.

Naija News earlier reported that Okoye was beheaded and his severed head displayed at a motor park in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.

Okoye, who represented Aguata II Constituency at the state House of Assembly, was murdered days after he was kidnapped by gunmen in Aguata alongside Cyril Chiegboka, his campaign director.

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Sunday, Sani said the gruesome killing of the Anambra lawmaker is cruel and must be condemned by all Nigerians.

The governorship aspirant described Okoye’s beheading as an act of lawlessness and barbarity being spread across the country.

He wrote; “The Beheading of the Anambra lawmaker Okechukwu Okoye by terrorist gunmen is cruel and condemnable.

“There’s even spread of lawlessness and barbarity in all parts of the country.”

Meanwhile, the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo on Saturday evening condemned the killing of the lawmaker.

In a statement, Soludo wondered if the lawmaker was killed by the same people that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in his reaction to the incident placed an N10 million reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
