2023 Presidency: Omokri Reveals Osinbajo’s Only Hope To Get APC Ticket

Reno Omokri, a loyalist and ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has alleged Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s only hope to possibly emerge the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress at the party’s primary elections, Naija News reports.

Analysing the current tension in the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections, Omokri in a Twitter post on Thursday said there is no chance, however, for Osinbajo if the ruling party should adopt direct democratic free and fair primaries.

The book writer believes the likes of APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, have a upper hand to become the party’s candidate for the 2023 election.

According to Omokri, Osinbajo’s only hope to become APC’s presidential flag-bearer is by a consensus candidacy.

Ganduje’s Commissioner Resigns, Defects To NNPP

The Commissioner of Finance under the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led government in Kano State, Shehu Na’Allah Kura has resigned.
The development was disclosed in a statement released by the commissioner for Information in the state, Muhammadu Garba on Thursday.

Kura dumped Ganduje’s cabinet after the Chief of Staff, Ali Haruna Makoda, dumped the cabinet and defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

NNPP is led by former Governor of the state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

2023: I Have The Best Record In APC – Rotimi Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant, Rotimi Amaechi has received the support of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai.

The Nigeria Ambassador to the Republic of Benin on Wednesday pleaded with delegates of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi to support Amaechi.

Buratai noted that he was stirred to support the presidential ambition of the former minister due to his profile and experience in governance.

2023: ‘Perish The Thought Of Producing Next President’ – Joe Igbokwe Warns Northerners

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe has warned Northerners against expecting President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor to emerge from their region in 2023.

Igbokwe in a Facebook post said the idea of a Northerner replacing Buhari in 2023 should perish.

The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources said the demand for a Northerner to succeed Buhari in 2023 should be considered a joke.

According to Joe Igbokwe, hearing the thought of the Northerners about producing the next president in 2023 made him laugh so hard.

2023: Top APC Chieftain, Murtala Garo Set To Join NNPP

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, is reportedly set to dump the party for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Naija News reports that Garo, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, was endorsed as the deputy governorship candidate by the party stakeholders for the 2023 general elections.

According to Daily Trust, Garo is mulling dumping the APC after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje met and reconciled with Senator Barau Jibrin, one of his political rivals in the state.

A source told the newspaper that the former commissioner is angry because the governor settled with Barau, who has been trying to wrest the control of the party away from their camp.

2023: Fr Mbaka Speaks On Endorsing Governorship Candidate In Enugu State

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka has distanced himself from the claim that he has endorsed the successor of the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

There had been claims online that Mbaka endorsed a governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, Evarest Nnaji, as the next governor of the State.

Mbaka in a statement released through the media aide to Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry, Ikechukwu Maximus said the report is fake.

The cleric accused mischief-makers of circulating the reports on social media.

2023: Goodluck Jonathan To Attend PDP Convention – Source

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan is expected to attend the National convention of the Peoples Democratic Party scheduled for the 29th of May in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Jonathan in the last few weeks has been linked with a move to the All Progressives Congress and a presidential ambition under the ruling party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Speculations which has left Nigerians wondering if the former president would be contesting in the 2023 presidential race.

Sources that spoke with SaharaReporters on the meeting of the former president with the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, noted that the convention of the main opposition party was discussed in the meeting.

2023: Atiku Lists Five States Where APC Rigged In 2019 Election

Former Vice President and 2023 presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, has listed five states where his votes were stolen by the All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2019 elections.

Naija News recalls that the Adamawa State-born politician contested the highest political position in 2019 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The presidential candidate of the main opposition party eventually lost to the ruling APC candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku while wooing PDP delegates in Katsina State in his recent visit to the state, alleged that in the 2019 presidential election, the APC stole his result in Katsina and four other states.

He urged them not to allow the same happen again in 2023.

Atiku alleged the APC rigged the 2019 election results in four other states namely; Kano, Kaduna, Borno and Yobe State.

2023: APC Speaks On Zoning Presidency To Northeast

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Barr. Felix Morka has dismissed speculations indicating that the party is planning to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the Northeast.

A report from Thisday had stated that the APC was working towards zoning its presidential ticket to the northeast, with the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan likely to emerge as its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.

“Many in the South who have been strident in calls for the presidential ticket to be zoned to the South after eight years of Buhari in the saddle are not likely to be amused by this evolving development,” the report published on Wednesday, May 18, stated.

However, the publicity secretary explained on Wednesday, that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has not taken such a step.

There’s no such decision made by the National Working Committee,” Morka said.

2023: Osinbajo Camp Promises APC Delegates Free Accommodation, Jobs, Other Goodies

The camp of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and 2023 presidential hopeful has moved to secure the vote of All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates during the party’s presidential primary election by making certain promises to them.

The campaign organization of Prof. Osinbajo who is seeking the 2023 presidential ticket of the APC promised the over 7,000 delegates free accommodation in Abuja for the primary election.

The promise was made by the special adviser on political matters to President Muhammadu Buhari (Office of the Vice President), Senator Babafemi Ojudu on behalf of his principal.

Naija News understands the promise was made on Wednesday in Minna, the Niger State capital during an interactive meeting with APC delegates in the state.
