The caucus of the People’s Democratic party PDP from the lgede extraction of Benue state on Wednesday presented a resolution to distance itself from the agitations of the Benue Rebirth Movement, (BRM) which stands to go against Governor Samuel Ortom.

The caucus pledged to remain loyal to the governor to provide political direction for them to follow.

In the presentation made by Kin lbe, the people said the decision of the Governor to declare support to the G 14 was a rightful one and not by accident and they were willing to follow the directions the Governor was going.

The caucus however sought the creation of a G 2 political arrangement to enable them actualize certain political ambitions and appealed to their brothers in the Benue South to concede the position of the Senate to lgede in next year’s general elections.

The caucus which led by the zone C PDP chairman, Godwin Onu and Chief lgbiri ldaa told Governor Ortom that they were not part of (BRM), insisting that they were in support of the Governor’s fatherly and well-intended advice for BRM and similar groups in Benue South to dialogue with the Tiv brothers and all major political parties to zone the governorship seat to zone C.

Governor Samuel Ortom while responding, appealed to BRM, to desist from militarizing its agitations as thinking along ethnic line would further destroy the country’s politics.

He assured that PDP would always abide by the constitution of the country and promised the forthcoming primaries would be transparent and support whosoever emerge.
