The PUNCH: The Independent National Electoral Commission has vowed not to extend the June 3, 2022 deadline for primaries even as The PUNCH observed on Monday that none of the 18 political parties had conducted their presidential primaries three weeks to the deadline.


The Guardian: The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) could bite the bullet next week when it reconvenes and adjusts the policy rate for the first time since September 2020 as resurging inflation concerns and interest rate hike across the world put Nigeria in a difficult position.

The Nation: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Accountant-General of the Federation (AG-F), Mr. Ahmed Idris, over alleged N80 billion fraud. It was learnt that Idris, who has been detained, was being quizzed as of press time.


Daily Trust: The push for a northerner to pick the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified ahead of the ruling party’s primary election slated for May 30 – June 1.


Daily SUN: Nigerian students, yesterday, made good their threats to cripple socio-economic actives in the country as they barricaded major highways and obstructed movements in continuation of their protest over ongoing nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
