2023 JAMB: Candidate Breaks UTME Mathematics Score Record

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the results of candidates who sat for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will soon be released.

JAMB in an update on Tuesday, 10th May explained that the results of over 1.4 million candidates that have sat for this year’s UTME have not been released because they are going through scrutiny.

Naija News reports the update was given in the Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar released on Tuesday in Abuja.

”About 1.4 million candidates have so far taken the examination across the country with some examination towns and centres completing their own allotted number of candidates for the year.

”The results of sessions already taken will be released soon,” JAMB noted.

The examination body explained that any candidate found through the ongoing review of CCTV footage to have engaged in malpractice would have his/her result withheld.

For results released before discovering the malpractice, JAMB stated that such would be withdrawn.

”However, the release of these results is with the caveat that after previewing the CCTV footage of the conduct of the examination, the result of any candidate found wanting would be withdrawn if already released.

” If not yet released, such result would be withheld.”

JAMB cautioned that any Computer-Based Tests (CBT) centre that connives with the candidates to carry out any form of malpractice or manipulation will face the consequences.

The board reiterated that it has zero tolerance for all forms of examination malpractice.

“The board is not here to subordinate the interest of Nigeria to any other interests. JAMB would, therefore, not tolerate any infraction, no matter how small.

”If the tempo of JAMB activities is too high for any centre, they are to, at liberty, seek other areas of engagement as there are so many things people can do outside partnering with JAMB.”

Naija News recalls the 2022 UTME exercise commenced on May 6 and is scheduled to run till May 16.
