Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's side Assaulted by Customs officers

A video has emerged on social media showing operatives of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Customs assaulting an aide to Delta State Governor,  Ifeanyi Okowa.

The disturbing video, Naija News reports was shared on Twitter by Human Rights Activists and Director-General Behind Bars, Harrison Gwamnishu.

The victim, Samson Nwachuckwu is confirmed to be a human rights volunteer and Special Assistant to Delta State Governor.

It was unclear what transpired between the law enforcement agents and Samson, the viral video, however, showed the two parties exchanging words and suddenly a slap landed on the governor’s aide face.

The incident which reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon has caused stirs in the Delta community of Agbor.

Samson as reported by Gwamnishu was assaulted along the Benin-Agbor Expressway.

Naija News observed closely from the video clip that the victim never retaliated but endured the pain that came with the slap as he formally lodged complaints of the incident to higher authorities.

Gwamnishu has since lamented the treatment of his colleague by the uniformed officers.

He threatened that “We are shutting down that expressway tomorrow (Monday) to demand justice.”

Meanwhile, a video had emerged earlier showing Niger Delta Militants asking the All Progressive Congress, APC to give its 2023 presidential ticket to Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
